Opuntia is known to be very high in calcium and fibre making it a perfect nutritional food source for your reptile and in addition, it has a high moisture content so also helps with hydration too. To provide a sustainable food source and keep the product fresh, we would recommend taking thin slices or small chunks off the pad to feed as required and then wrap it up in cling film, a plastic bag or a sealed container then place it in a cool store room or even better, in the fridge! This will keep the pad fresh and juicy for a good 3-4 weeks. ***** PLEASE NOTE – The Cactus pads are a natural product and although most of the spines have been removed, there may still be some remaining.
